This 18×24 original oil painting features a stunning White-faced Ibis. It is part of my series, The Water’s Edge, which highlights Threatened, Endangered, and protected birds that depend on coastal areas as well as other bodies of water for their survival. Painted on a deep cradled wood panel with finished edges, it is wired and ready to hang.
White-faced ibises are declining throughout North America, where continuing threats include draining of wetlands and the widespread use of pesticides. They currently are listed as state Threatened in Texas, and as Concerned in California.
